We’ve decided to designate Friday as our collaboration days. As today is Friday, here is my contribution to our promised collaboration.

We each came up with a 50 (or more) Random Facts about Me post. This collaboration is a variation of that concept. However, instead of coming up with random facts about myself, this version was designed to make me think of random facts about my best friends.

Therefore, I present to you 10 Things about My Besties:

10 Things About Anna (By Helena):

1. People assume she’s a ditz. She isn’t really that ditzy. Just a smidge.
2. People underestimate her intelligence. They assume that most of her brain is lost amongst her huge boobs instead of her head. They are so very wrong.
3. She can debate with the best of ‘em. Her public speaking performances are amazing.
4. She once wanted to grow up to be a journalist. I don’t know if that’s her current career dream, but she was on the high school newspaper.
5. She’s an extrovert. She loves talking to people and making new friends. It legitimately bothers her when a person finds a reason to dislike her. (It’s usually her bouncy personality, some people just can’t handle it.)
6. She doesn’t want to birth children. She loves children, she just doesn’t want to keep them.
7. She loves patterns and peasant shirts and skirts.
8. She loves accents. (C’mon, who doesn’t?) Especially Irish/Scottish accents. She’s also pretty keen on gingers. And beards.
9. She loves puns. Especially terrible ones.
10. She is an optimistic cynic, which gets a bit confusing. But it’s essentially who she is.

10 Things About Ramona (By Helena):

1. She cannot lie to save her life. Seriously. It is physically impossible for her to be a believable liar. As great as it is to be honest, blahblahblah, this isn’t always a helpful trait.
2. She has an open and honest relationship with her mother. To the point where I’m occasionally afraid to walk into her house because her mother will want to hear about my non-existent love life and she’s usually up-to-date on my options (and the ones that are no longer options…).
3. She has a pet salamander. But she wants a rabbit. She isn’t allowed a rabbit.
4. The walls of her room were once painted sky blue. I can’t quite remember if it’s the same color now, but they used to be very bright. (Edit: I was in her room. Still sky blue walls.)
5. She has an amazing singing voice. It’s unique to her and it is fucking fantastic.
6. She reads like there’s no tomorrow and she secretly writes fan fiction. (It’s not a secret anymore, HAH.)
7. Her favorite band is My Chemical Romance. A piece of her soul died the day they broke up.
8. She likes black pencil eyeliner but doesn’t abuse it nearly as much as I do.
9. She’s clumsy. Plain and simple.
10. She has a weird diet but it isn’t necessarily her fault.

Here’s something weird. I wrote this last weekend, before I had a chance to read Ramona and Anna’s Random Facts. However, after perusing their posts, there were quite a few similarities between our facts! We even used the same words. It was a little strange. To know someone so intimately that you even think alike. Can’t say I’m all that disappointed, though.

Yesterday, while we were holed up in an amazing coffee shop, we decided to read a few of our posts aloud to each other. It was hilarious and I’ve decided that yesterday was the best day ever. It’s a little daunting, hearing your words aloud from the throat of another. But, overall, it was a fantastic time and I can’t wait for a repeat.
