Had to share this awesome fucking song by Girl Talk!!!!

Girl Talk is this amazing artist that remixes a bunch of songs to make something totally new. I got hooked after watching a documentary about his fight against intellectual property laws – yes, I’m a geek.

The best thing about his music is listening trying to figure out where all his samples come from. I guarantee that you will not be able to name them all.

Anyway, listening to Girl Talk and trying to do actual work is a FAIL.

But what it does help me with is my ability to comprehend ideas about freedom of information. I mean, it would be great to just be able to have movies, music, and media for free – all the awesome things we as consumers could do with all of that content is sploosh-worthy. (ARCHER REFERENCE! And yes, it was necessary to yell it out because anyone who doesn’t get it SHOULD.)

I feel like it is an ideal we should strive for.

But I also understand the other side of this fight. You know, how do they get credit for their work? How do they make money, especially new artists.

BUT –

at the same time. If our purpose as a society is to create awesomeness the money shouldn’t matter.

Time to prioritize guys, what’s more important to you?
