So this week for our Friday collaboration we are posting embarrassing journal entries and writings from our past.
This one I wrote my freshman year of high school back when I first fell madly in love with Roen, my crush from the past. He used to call me every night and play songs on the piano for me. My 14 year old self thought it was the most romantic thing in the world.
My love of classical music stems from Roen and in this poem I wrote about him using the titles of classical songs I love. This was painful for me to read, because it oozed cheese and teenage angst. However, please enjoy my horrid poetry skills. My embarrassment is your entertainment. Cheers.
You’ll never know how much you mean to me,
But I’ll try to explain it as best as I can.
Your like the perfect melody that runs through my head all day.
Your presence fills me with joy like Yiruma’s River Flows in You (even though I know it’s a tad cliché)
Your memory floats around my mind as effortlessly as Chopin’s Nocturne Op.9 No.2 and leave a haunting melody like Beethoven’s Midnight Sonata.
Together we’re like Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, a beautiful disaster of a song, creating a story with a melody similar to that of Camille Saint-Saens’ The Swan.
And just in case you don‘t know,
You’re my Clair De Lune.
That’s how much you mean to me.
