Thanks For Now

In honor of Thanksgiving (and in recognition of being thankful for the things in life we currently possess but will immediately disregard in pursuit of everything bigger and better and cheaper on Black Friday), this week’s collaboration is a list of things we’re thankful for. I know, I know, it’s been done before. It’s done every Thanksgiving season. Well, I’m thankful that this blog is still fairly new because we aren’t necessarily expected to be 100% original yet.

  1. Family that respects the Knock Before Entering rule
  2. Friends who crowd me when I desperately need space
  3. Friends that give me space even when I don’t ask for it
  4. People who let me hurt them without hating me
  5. A car that refuses to permanently die on me
  6. The combination of coffee and chocolate, resulting in the perfect blend of mocha happiness and automatic energy
  7. Candles that smell like pomegranate sweetness
  8. Music that makes me subconsciously tap my foot
  9. Dresses that allow me to be too lazy for pants
  10. Desperate online strangers with low standards that make me feel pretty and smart
  11. High seats that let me swing my legs
  12. Lonely drives home where I sing at the top of my lungs and contemplate life choices
  13. Contacts, for their ability to let me clearly see the stars out my car window at night
  14. Rain that makes me feel like all my troubles are washed away
  15. Any good read; online comics, books, clever ad signs, etc.
  16. Temporary tattoos that helps me to embrace my childish badassedness and avoid my fear of needles
  17. Empty notebooks that inspire me with the potential of creativity
  18. Fandoms that allow me to lose myself in another world and another life
  19. Social media that lets me stalk people without actual human interaction
  20. A job that pays me well to sneakily waste time online
  21. Trees to climb that give me a thrill of adventure and the joy of being high up
  22. Black boots that make me feel like a BAMF
  23. Terrible people that make me look like a saint in comparison
  24. A younger sister who does pretty much whatever I tell her to (including my chores)
  25. Spotify genius’ who suggest great bands for me
  26. Thesaurus.com for making me sound smarter than I am and always finding the word my brain couldn’t find
  27. Parents who essentially let me do what I want and accept my adultness
  28. Instagram filters that make me look better than I am in real life
  29. A mobile device that allows me to communicate almost anywhere without saying a thing
  30. Attractive guys to admire from afar
