Contrary to the title of this segment, my love life isn’t lacking luster at all. Every relationship has its ups and downs, and overall, I am happy with my love life. However, reality, especially romantic relationships, always seems to lack the magic of fictional stories and movies. The characters in the books and fan fiction I love to read seem much more genuine and interesting than I am. The magic moments in the movies seem much more enchanting and romantic than real life. When you’re constantly immersed in this romantic, fictional perfection, its difficult to not form expectations for your significant other and your relationships. “My lackluster love life” is my response to this problem.

In this segment, I will tell you my love story in a similar style to the books I love so much. It’ll be a looking glass of sorts to not only reminisce on the past, but also to take a good hard look at myself, my boyfriend and our relationship. I hope you enjoy our story as much as I will writing it.

Remember, sometimes we need to simply step back and take life in to see the pure magic and love that surrounds us.
