Words, Words, Words

I’m too lazy to come up with anything original for today. So I’m just going to post an old slam poem.

Words, Words, Words on December 7, 2012

Words, words, words.

Born from emotion, spilled onto pages, and erupted through voices.

Hearts spoken through hearts broken and minds too slow to make the right choices.

We cry for love and disregard affection, quiver in fear and laugh at danger, we’ll lie to our friends, but we’ll trust a stranger.

Now, maybe you felt you’ve felt a little too much, maybe you felt you’ve felt not enough, maybe you decided to say, “Screw it, I won’t care at all.”

Take that feeling and jump, sprint, fly, or fall.

Express yourself.

Because no one else will.

It doesn’t take much skill, just pick up a pen and write out a thought and know that this battle you’ve fought has been won.

With that thought, you learn how to do more than survive.

You teach yourself how to be truly alive.

Words, words, words.
